TRAINING
Behavior Modification
Behavior modification training is a specialized type of training that aims to change or modify a dog’s behavior. It involves identifying and addressing specific behavioral issues such as aggression, fearfulness, separation anxiety, excessive barking, or leash pulling, and teaching the dog new, desirable behaviors while diminishing or eliminating unwanted behaviors through positive reinforcement, reward-based training methods and behavior management techniques. The trainer will assess the dog’s behavior, identify underlying causes of unwanted behavior, and create a customized training plan to address any issues.
Obedience
We provide obedience training to teach dogs basic and advanced commands, improve communication, and establish a strong bond between the dog and owner. Our goal is to ensure that your dog is well-behaved and obedient in different locations and around distractions. We focus on building a foundation and putting your dog in the right mindset to meet your goals and expectations. We believe that a confident and motivated dog learns faster and more successfully, and we provide you with the tools to ensure your dog becomes the best they can be.
Board & Train
During our Board and Train, we provide intensive training and behavior modification for your dogs. During their stay, they receive daily training on obedience commands, socialization, leash manners, and specific behavior issues. Our trainers also focus on building a strong bond between the dog and owner, by involving the owner in follow-up training sessions. This type of training is ideal for busy owners or dogs with serious behavior issues. Additionally, Board and Train is a great option for owners going on vacation who want to return home to a-trained dog.
Specialized Training
Beyond obedience, we offer training solutions for odor detection, protection, sport and tracking. Odor detection is an innate skill for canines which allows them to fully realize genetic traits. Odor detection may be for explosives, narcotics, truffles, or any odor that the owner would like the canine to find. Additionally, odor work has proven to be an effective component in behavior modification. Protection work is a very specialized skill that requires knowledge and handling skills to accomplish correctly. Often times, people want to get their dog a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification whether it be for housing opportunities or for personal reasons. the CGC is a great opportunity to demonstrate great dog behaviors.
